Tip: Read your story out loud into a recording device, then play it back to yourself. Really listen as you follow along. Where did you change wording? Where does it sound boring? Move too fast? Too slow? Sound awkward? Mark these places, then go back and fix them.

Teaser: Your character is moving to a much smaller home and needs to seriously downsize. What does s/he keep? Get rid of? How does s/he deal with emotional “stuff” (family heirlooms, things from her past, etc.). What does s/he do with the “extras”?
