Today is  National Custodial Workers Recognition Day, National Name Your Car Day, National Fried Scallops Day

Thought for the day: “I will write, as in the past, simply for the pleasure of writing, for myself alone, with no thought of money or fame. Apollo at least will be grateful to me, and perhaps at last I will produce something beautiful—for all things make way before the unceasing striving of an energetic sentiment.” – Gustave Flaubert

Editing Tip: When doing edits on your book, read it out loud, or have the computer read it to you. Are there places you skip? Places you add words? Make note of those areas and be sure to fix them. If you skip, so will your reader.

Jumpstart: The weather is turning cooler, there’s a nip in the air. This is the time of year for football games, apple cider and scary monsters lurking in the shadows. In the manor of Shelley (Frankenstein), you have to create a new monster – but one with a streak of nice. What does your monster look like? What is his or her quirk? What happens when s/he follows the nice streak instead of the nasty?
